Barbados: Immunisation Unit notifies about vaccination schedule on March 24
To ease the vaccination procedure for the Barbadians, the Immunisation Unit has announced the vaccination schedule for March 24, 2022 (Thursday).

                                                    Barbados: To ease the vaccination procedure for the Barbadians, the Immunisation Unit has announced the vaccination schedule for March 24, 2022 (Thursday).
According to the updated vaccination schedule, on March 24, vaccines against COVID-19 will be available at four (4) centres between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM.
The vaccination sites where the vaccines can be administrated are:
1.) Branford Taitt Polyclinic at Black Rock, St Michael – 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM
2.) Harbour Industrial Park (Building No.2), St Michael – 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
3.) Glebe Polyclinic at The Glebe, St George – 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
4.) Edgar Cochrane Polyclinic at Wildey, St Michael – 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM
Presently, the Barbadian Government administrates four COVID-19 vaccines – AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sinopharm and Johnson & Johnson. Thes vaccines will be available at the polyclinics and vaccination centres at the scheduled times only.
As per the notification by the health authorities, citizens aged 12 to 18 years may visit any of the locations listed to receive the Pfizer vaccine.
While providing instructions about the vaccination, the unit advised the civilians to carry their identification cards if they wished to receive the first dose. The receiver must have a blue vaccination card to receive the second dose.
In Barbados, Booster shots for the AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Sinopharm vaccines will also be available for eligible persons who had their second injection six months ago. Individuals who want to receive a booster dose should either carry a blue vaccination card or identification card.
Similar vaccination card instructions have been given to overseas residents.
The vaccination rate in Barbados is quite good compared to other Caribbean island countries. As per the data shared by the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, till March 22, 2022 (Tuesday), the total number of persons with at least one dose is 160,83, which is 70.4 percent of the eligible population and the total number of fully vaccinated persons is 150,743, which is 66 percent of the eligible population.
