Antigua Premier League matches postponed due to adverse weather conditions

Antigua and Barbuda: The matches of Antigua Premier League, which were scheduled to take place on Saturday, 10th February 2024 and Sunday, 11th February 2024, have been postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

The Antigua and Barbuda Football Association apologized to the citizens of the nation for the inconvenience caused by them due to changes in schedule. However, the association said, “As it stands now, Monday’s game is still on! We’ll keep you updated if anything changes. Stay tuned for further updates.”

Antigua and Barbuda Weather 

On 10th February 2024 – The nation experienced partly cloudy weather along with moderate showers. A high surface pressure continued to build across the region, which maintained stable atmospheric conditions across the area. The residual pockets of moisture on the wind flow generated brief periods of cloudiness and showers. Meanwhile, the marine conditions continued to experience northerly swells in their elevated seas.

On 11th February 2024 – The nation experienced partly cloudy weather along with low showers. Shallow cloud patches of moisture supported brief cloudiness and showers across the Leeward Islands and British Virgin Islands.

Notably, six matches in total have been postponed, as three games were scheduled to play on Saturday and 3 on Sunday.

The games that were scheduled to take place on Saturday, 10th February 2024

• The first match was scheduled to be conducted between Garden Stars Football Club and All Saints United Football Club at 4:00 pm.
• The second game, which has been postponed, was between Empire Football Club and Swetes Football Club at 6:00 pm.
• The third game was scheduled to be held between Pigotts Bullets Football Club and Ottos Rangers Football Club at 8:00 pm.

The games that were scheduled to take place on Sunday, 11th February, 2024

• The first game was scheduled to be held between Aston Villa Football Club and Grenades Football Club at 4:00 pm.
• The second match was scheduled to be conducted between SAP Football Club and Willikies Football Club at 6:00 pm.
• The third game, which has been postponed, was between Parham Football Club and Greenbay Hoppers Football Club.
