15-member squad announced for West Indies women matches against Sri Lanka, Hayley Matthews to captain
The Women’s selection panel of Cricket West Indies unveiled a squad of 15 players for the highly anticipated series against Sri Lanka. Hayley Matthews has been announced as the captain of the team who will be supported by Shemaine Campbelle as the Vice Captain.

The Women’s selection panel of Cricket West Indies unveiled a squad of 15 players for the highly anticipated series against Sri Lanka. Hayley Matthews has been announced as the captain of the team who will be supported by Shemaine Campbelle as the Vice Captain.
The exciting series consists of three One Day Internationals, 3 T20 Internationals and 1 test match. The ODI Series which will take place from 15th– 21st June is a part of ICC Women’s Championship. The series serves as a significant stepping stone towards qualification for the Women’s Cricket World Cup.
It is a huge opportunity for the women to polish their skills, build strategies, synergy, evaluate their strengths and areas for improvement against best opponents. The experience gained here will play a huge role as the team will progress towards the T20 World Cup with a vision to prepare themselves for all the challenges waiting ahead.

Along with that, the Cricket West Indies has also unveiled the team management unit who will be with the team and will make stringent measures in order to provide the players with the best amenities. Shane Deitz has been named as the Head Coach of the team who will be assisted by Ryan Austin and Damien Wright as Assistant Coaches.
Gary Belle has been announced as the team analyst, Tajay Grant is selected as the Physiotherapist who will ensure the overall assessment and fitness of the players during the pre and post matches against Sri Lanka.
Antonio Burton is selected as the Strength and Conditioning Coach. Meanwhile, Dr. Nadine Sammy and Sheena Gooding are selected as the Performance Coach and Team Manager respectively. This management is being expected to play a huge role in improving the overall performances of the players.

The West Indies Senior Women’s team will depart from Caribbean on 2nd June for seven day training camp in Colombo for preparing for the ahead tours.
