Castries, Saint Lucia: The Meteorological Department of Saint Lucia has shared an update on the weather conditions in the early hours of January 18, 2023. The update was announced by forecaster Webster Gajadhar.

According to the update, the weather at Hewanorra Airport will remain fair, and the temperature is predicted to be 26°C or 79°F. The update further stated that the minimum temperature last night at the Airport was 25°C or 77°F, and the winds will be blowing at the speed of 15 mph or 24 km/h from the east direction.

After the rainfall during the early hours of the day, the total rainfall reported in the month of January, to date, has reached up to 65.0 mm. As per the update, the sun is expected to rise at 6:32 am on January 18.

According to the update by the meteorological department, during the upcoming 24 hours, the weather condition will remain fair to occasionally cloudy, with chances of a few showers. The winds will blow at the speed of nearly 16 mph or 26 km/h between the direction of east and east-southeast.

During this time, the sea condition will remain moderate to locally rough with waves and north-easterly swells of 5 to 7 feet. Because of such sea conditions, the department has asked the sea crafters and bathers to exercise caution.

The department further stated about the weather forecast for the Lesser Antilles. The weather is predicted to remain partly cloudy, becoming cloudy at times with scattered showers over the northern Leeward Islands. However, the weather conditions will be fair to occasionally cloudy, with a few showers.

In conclusion, the conditions in the Eastern Caribbean region during the forecast period were announced. The Atlantic High-Pressure System will generate moderate easterly winds and above-normal seas.
