Two men arrested for possessing drugs and firearms in Trinidad
Police have arrested two men and seized two firearms, a quantity of ammunition, a quantity of narcotics and recovered several stolen cell phones during crime suppression exercises.

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: Two men were arrested for possessing two firearms, a quantity of ammunition, a quantity of narcotics and several stolen cell phones in Central, South Trinidad.
Police seized several illegal items during the crime suppression exercises on Saturday.
The first incident took place between the hours of 6 pm and 12 midnight on November 18 when police officials of the Southern Division Task Force acted on the information about the use of dangerous drugs.
Notably, the law enforcement officers arrested two men of age, a 24-year-old man and a 26-year-old, for possession of 66 grammes of Cannabis.
It is to be noted that during the same exercise, officials proceeded to a bushy area in the vicinity of the Tarouba Recreation Grounds, Marabella. They conducted a search approximately 30 feet off the roadway.
Reportedly, they found a Tang folio Pistol with two rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition.
PCs Loutan and De Boulet led the investigation of the matter.
In an unallied matter in the Port of Spain Division, personnel executed an intelligence-led operation in connection with a suspect who is wanted in a report of Robbery with Violence that occurred in the Southern Division.
The investigation was held between 2 pm and 5 pm on November 17, 2023.
Notably, police took up a strategic position at a cell phone store downtown; however, the suspect had never shown up yet.
The officers later administered further enquiries at the outlet, where they seized three iPhones, eight of which were lodged by the suspect to be fixed.

The investigation of this matter is still going on under the assistance of PC Rambaran.
It is to be added in the remarks of the police that they have recovered a homemade shotgun with two rounds of 1 gauge ammunition, a Glock Pistol and 15 rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition in Maloney Gardens and Freeport in earlier exercises.

It is to be noted that the latest seizure of firearms brings more than three seized by police officials within the past 24 hours.
