Trinidad and Tobago: Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts of Trinidad and Tobago has announced that the submission deadline for the Tourism and Wellness Secondary School Art competition has been extended. According to the ministry, the new deadline for submission has been postponed to December 5, 2022. The event has been postponed due mark the celebration of Caribbean Tourism Month 2022.
The Ministry of Tourism and the Arts has also released important details like eligibility, rules, submission requirements etc.
Eligibility for submitting the application
• Students of secondary schools in Trinidad and Tobago.
• Children of employees of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts and its agencies are NOT eligible to enter.
Rules
• Schools are allowed to submit multiple entries.
• One entry per student.
• The art piece can be in the form of a drawing, painting, collage or mixed media on a base measuring (18″ x 24″) unmounted.
• All artwork should be ORIGINAL CREATIONS of the participants.
• ALL entries must be accompanied by a brief written description (not more than 250 words) explaining how the piece relates to tourism and wellness.
The competition will be judged into three categories:
FORMS 1-2, FORMS 3-4 and FORMS 5-6
Winners
• Nine (9) finalists will be selected.
• The winning artwork will be displayed publicly at a location to be announced.
• Prize for the school with the MOST entries.
Submission Requirements
Deadline Date – December 5, 2022, at 3:00 pm.
• Entry forms MUST be attached to the artwork. Entry forms can be obtained at the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, Level 9, at the security booth or the Ministry’s website.
• All entries must be submitted to Tourism and Wellness Secondary Schools Art Competition, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, Level 9, Tower C, International Waterfront Complex. 1A Wrightson Rd, Port of Spain.
Usage Rights
Participants who submit their work agree to the following:
• The artwork will be displayed publicly at a location to be announced.
• The MTCA retains all rights to the artwork.
• Winning artwork can be used by the MTCA for promotional purposes.
