Trinidad and Tobago: NCRHA screens approx 33,000 persons for NCDs

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) has recently shared an update regarding the recent screening hosted by the health authority, along with the government of Trinidad and Tobago.
As per the official update, around 33,000 persons were screened in the community for diabetes, hypertension and non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
The NCRHA noted, “NCRHA screens 33,000 persons for non-communicable diseases through its most successful community outreach project – Walk the Talk!”
NCRHA has mentioned that around five services will be provided by the authority, including:
• Medical consultations and screenings from specialist doctors and nurses
• Dieticians and nutritionists
• Ophthalmologists
•Cardiologists, Vaccinations
• Voluntary counselling and testing for HIV

An individual’s interest and willingness to partake in the NCRHA’s ‘Walk the Talk’ initiative and encourage members of your communities to do the same is a step in the right direction.
Additionally, the social media post by the health authority was utilized to extend gratitude and thanks towards the healthcare professionals. It noted, “A special thank you to our team of dedicated and committed healthcare professionals for going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure our communities are healthier and happier! Your hard work has not gone unnoticed!”
Furthermore, it expressed that initiatives like these would not be possible without the guidance of the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Executive Management Team of the NCRHA! Thank you for your constant leadership and support!
“We are more than healthcare providers; we’re a force for good health!” it concluded.
