Trinidad and Tobago: India in Trinidad and Tobago (High Commission of India, Port of Spain) – ITEC Day 2022 was celebrated by the High Commission of India, in collaboration with the Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Cooperation on September 30, 2022, with Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr Amery Browne, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Rita Toussaint, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs and Joel Martinez, Mayor of Port of Spain, were also present.
The message from Dr S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister on India’s Development Cooperation, was screened. ITEC Alumni from Trinidad and Tobago attended in person and renewed the experience of their visit to India, while those from the Commonwealth of Dominica and Grenada shared in virtual mode their perspective of having attended ITEC courses.
Friends of India and officials of the High Commission of India and Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Cooperation also attended the commemorative event. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Indian Diplomacy, Ministry of External Affairs, DPA Division, Government of India, ICCR, MGICC Trinidad, Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Port of Spain, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Affairs and Diaspora Relations Roseau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development St Georges.
The High Commission of India, Port of Spain and Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Cooperation also paid tribute to India’s Father of Nation on his 153rd Birth Anniversary on October 2, 2022.
