Sunil Narine confirmed that he has no plans to return to the West Indies International Cricket team ever again for T20 World Cup or any other tournament. He ended all the speculations related to his return to the team by sharing the post on his Instagram account and said he will continue to stay retired and won’t come out of retirement to participate in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

The former all-rounder of West Indies, Narine is currently performing at the Indian Premier League 2024 and has so far scored 286 runs for his team, Kolkata Knight Riders with an amazing strike rate of 176.54.

His stunning performances and tremendous all-round show in the ongoing edition of IPL 2024 raised desires among Caribbean fans, selectors and former cricketers for his way back from retirement to again represent West Indies in T20 Cricket World Cup 2024.

However, he left all his fans upset with one post which he shared on his official Instagram account. He firstly expressed gratitude for the love and respect he is receiving for his performances from the fans all around the world.

“I’m truly flattered and humbled that my performances recently have moved many people to publicly express their wish for me to come out of retirement and play in the upcoming T20 World Cup,” noted Sunil Narine.

He further added that he has made peace with the decision which he took and now the door is closed for him to return. He said that he will continue to extend support to the players who will represent West Indies and added that the players who are working hard over the past few months deserves a spot in the team to display their capabilities of claiming another title.

Notably, the last time Narine represented West Indies was in August 2019 and announced his retirement from international cricket in November 2023.

Moreover, the player also scored his maiden T20 century and has been displaying excellent performance with both bat and ball, which is winning the hearts of all cricket lovers.

His decision was respected by the audience who have flooded the social media accounts with their comments on the news.
