St Kitts and Nevis death toll rises to 43

St Kitts and Nevis: A situation of COVID-19 pandemic is stabilizing in St Kitts and Nevis as no new case of the viral infection has been reported over the past 24 hours on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. As per the COVID-19 situation report of the Health Ministry, the toll of the confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus stood at zero.

As of now, the number of active cases of the novel coronavirus in the twin-island Federation has reached zero (0).

However, the Federation has zero (0) reported fatalities associated with COVID-19 as a total of 43 people have succumbed to the viral infection on March 30, 2022. As per the reports, out of the total fatalities, 36 deaths were reported from St Kitts, while the remaining seven (7) have been recorded from Nevis.

The pandemic emerged in St Kitts and Nevis on March 2021, and a total of 5,549 people have been exposed to the viral infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 since then.

Out of the total confirmed cases of the mutant, a total of 4,705 cases have been reported from St Kitts, and the remaining 844 were reported from Nevis.

As per the health ministry, as many as 5,506 people have been recovered from the viral infection of the novel coronavirus so far; out of them, St Kitts health facilities have healed a total of 4,669 patients, while from Nevis, 837 people have been cured of the viral infection.

However, on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, no new recoveries were reported from the twin Island Federation.

As per the status of the vaccination, till March 30, 2022, around 82.9 percent of the citizens of St Kitts and Nevis are partially vaccinated, while 77.8 percent are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 infection. A total of 9.7 percent of the total eligible population received their booster shots.

The health ministry has also asked the general public to abide by the COVID-19 health protocols such as – wearing masks, frequently sanitizing, maintaining a referred physical distance in public places, and avoiding unnecessary gatherings.
