The Ministry of Tourism of Saint Lucia is all set to host the 2024 National Tourism Public Speaking Competition. The last date to register for the competition is 1st March 2024.

Castries, Saint Lucia: The Ministry of Tourism of Saint Lucia is all set to host the 2024 National Tourism Public Speaking Competition. The last date to register for the competition is 1st March 2024. 

The tourism authority of the nation is looking for a great speaker aged between 14 to 17 who can become a Junior Minster for Tourism 2024. There are certain steps that needs to be followed by the interested individuals in order to participate in the competition. 

The interested candidate will have to display their personality in a 2-minute video. The video should contain the answer to the question “What makes me a true Saint Lucian.”

Following that, the top 10 videos will be qualified for the 2024 National Tourism Public Speaking Competition. Meanwhile, the winner will be awarded the title of Junior Minister for Tourism 2024-25. 

Winners will also get a chance to represent Saint Lucia regionally at the 2024 Tourism Youth Congress in the Cayman Islands and other public forums. Along with that, the winners will also be awarded several prizes which include, a cash prize of $2500, an all-expenses paid trip to the Cayman Islands, day passes, tech gadgets, weekend gateways, scholarships and many more. 

The individuals who want to participate in the competition can submit their registration by 1st March 2024. The submission of the videos can be done by sending them to the email ID of the management team. The email id is secretarymot@gmail.com and the last date to submit it is 12th March, 2024.

Along with that, the nation is also celebrating its 45 years of Independence under the theme “Douvan Ansanm; Building a nation through Unity, Resilience and Creativity.”

The main objective of the theme is to celebrate the vibrant culture and traditions of the island nation and promote a sense of brotherhood, unity and resilience among the residents of the community. 

Such competition will boost the spirit of youths to contribute to the development of their nation. It will also help them to build their confidence and promote leadership qualities among them.
