Castries, Saint Lucia: The animal-welfare organisation of Castries, Saint Lucia, HelpAWS has shared an emotional social media post on March 1, 2023. The dog shelter has shared, “While most of us would go to the ends of the earth for our animals, not every animal gets that same love. The world is full of lost, lonely, suffering strays, all dreaming of the opportunity to find and live a better life. The lucky ones get brought into a shelter and adopted into wonderful families. But not all are so fortunate. Many find their way to the shelter but take forever to find their forever family.”
It further stated that the organisation has so many precious puppies in its care at the shelter right now. In fact, today’s count is 86! But of those 86, only FIVE have been adopted and are just waiting their turn to fly into the arms of their excited families. As per the organisation, it has received so few adoption applications this year and none over the past several days.
“This leaves us and the pups we’re caring for in a horrible situation. These babies deserve so much more than life at our shelter. Even though we love them and care for them, it’s just not possible to provide the same level of attention and bonding as they will have with their person or family,” it noted.
It added, “And, as the shelter remains full of pups who are ready to go on to their next chapter, it leaves little to no wiggle room for us to rescue other animals in dire need.”
While explaining about the donation methods, HelpAWS mentioned, “If you’re thinking about buying a dog from a breeder, or even a pet store, we encourage you to consider adopting instead. So many animals need loving homes, and if you visit our website at www.helpaws.com/adopt and check out our adorable adoptable, you just may find your next best friend!”
