PM Terrance Drew oversees hyperbaric chamber, promises to advance healthcare sector

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew made his official visit to the CDA Technical Institute of the West Indies to view to hyperbaric chambers. The visit marks his unwavering commitment and dedication towards bringing significant improvements in the healthcare sector of the island nation.
Austin Edinborough, the advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office; Captain Ray Black, Owner/Director of the Hyperbaric Chamber and McClean Hobson, the CEO accompanied the Prime Minister, Terrance Drew on their visit to the Hyperbaric Chamber which is located at the Industrial site, Basseterre.
PM Terrance Drew shared glimpses of his visit on his social media account and said “Yesterday I had an official visit to the CDA Technical Institute of the West Indies to view the hyperbaric chambers.”

While shedding light on the progress in the health department, PM Drew highlighted the transformative capabilities of hyperbaric oxygen therapy which involves the benefit of breathing 100% pure oxygen that offers a revolutionary approach to medical treatment.
“We had the opportunity to explore the transformative capabilities of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This pioneering therapy involves breathing 100% pure oxygen within a pressurized hyperbaric chamber, offering a revolutionary approach to medical treatment,” noted PM Terrance Drew.

The CDA Technical Institute of the West Indies was established in St Kitts and Nevis in 2014 with a vision to attract trainees from all over the world and seek employment opportunities in several sectors such as maritime industries, oil rigs and commercial diving.
The institute has always focused on enhancing talent and fulfilling the demands of the industry in the realm of commercial living. Along with that, it focuses on bringing revolution to the healthcare sector of St Kitts and Nevis.
The chambers will play a key role in addressing serious health problems such as diabetic complications, poor circulation, and ulcerated feet. It will also treat conditions like decompression sickness, carbon monoxide poisoning, gas gangrene and radiation injury.
Several residents of the community took to their social media accounts and appreciated the government for this initiative which will bring fruitful results, improving people’s livelihood.
