Sindh, Pakistan: On the occasion of the 119th birth anniversary of Sain GM Syed, protest rallies were organised by the Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM) in Kandyaro and Tharirri Mohabbat City in Sindh. The demonstration was held against the state brutalities. According to the update by the local media, the people marched across the city, where a meeting was held.
The objective behind the meeting was to interact with office bearers of the Jeay Sindh Freedom movement. The discussion was held against aggression on workers, women as well as children by the state institutions, including Sindh Rangers and State Police.
A memorandum against shelling and shootings, which happened in Sann on January 17, was issued by the protesters. Prior to this, the rally moved within the city, and there the protestors raised slogans against state oppression and fascism. Rallies were turned into demonstrations after the group of people reached press clubs.
Recovery slogans were raised for the national workers, who were forcibly asked to disappear from the state. Along with this, a statement was issued that stated that state terrorism would not be accepted. Following this, JSFM leaders addressed the protestors and informed them that the revolutionary political organisation is focused towards the freedom of Sindh and will follow the ideology of GM Syed, not taking him for granted.
Furthermore, they committed that they were not afraid and were ready to sacrifice their lives also. “We are ready and will not back down even if it means sacrificing children, homes, families,” one of the leaders was quoted saying.
A warning was issued by the protestors to the state in the end. They outlined that the people of Sindh will not bear cruelty, and the state should commit only that much which it can bear in the upcoming days. Protestors further stated that brutalities against innocent men, women and children of Sindh would be accounted for in future.
