Jamaica: Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness has recently shared updates regarding the National Housing Trust. He outlined that the government has been working hard to provide housing units to the general public of the nation.

On the morning of November 9, 2022, the government added another story to the NHT’s chapter as they broke ground for the construction of 248 studio apartments at Howard Avenue, St Andrew, informed Prime Minister Holness through his social media. The property can be accessed from the main thoroughfares of Waltham Park Road (east) & Spanish Town Road (west) and runs parallel to Hagley Park Road. Howard Avenue is approximately 5.5 km and 8 km, respectively, from the commercial centres of Half-Way-Tree and Downtown, Kingston.
PM Andrew Holness furthermore highlighted that this development is a joint venture with Centauri Real Estate Company Limited (CREC) under the NHT’s Guaranteed Purchase Programme (GPP). The complex will include a children’s play area, Drying yard, Laundry area, Roof Garden, jogging trail and other amenities.
