Guyana: A gruesome incident from Region 4 has come to light after a couple was beaten, robbed and raped by two bandits while they were returning from a volleyball match.

Guyana: A gruesome incident from Region 4 has come to light after a couple was beaten, robbed and raped by two bandits while they were returning from a volleyball match.
On their way back, the couple was stopped by two bandits. After an altercation, the robbers started beating the husband, which left him unconscious and the bandits robbed him and left him on the road.
After that, the bandits attacked the husband till, he got unconscious, they then grabbed the wife and attempted to rape her. She was helplessly screaming for someone to listen and help her in the situation.
Before fleeing from the site, they also robbed them and took away the valuables and cash with them.
A few residents of the area rescued the couple from the situation and took them to the hospital for medical treatment. They also immediately informed the police authorities about the incident.
According to the reports, the woman is an 18-year-old woman, who has been raped by bandits, and the husband who is 24-year-old, was beaten up by the robbers.
The police immediately responded to the matter and has visited the site of the scene. After inspecting the area, they took over the CCTV footage. The incident has been captured in the CCTV cameras.
The information gathered by the police reveals that the couple went to watch a volleyball game on the evening of Tuesday. The unfortunate incident took place around 1:03 AM at night while they were making their way back from the game, while they were attacked by the robbers.
The residents of the area are in rage and have expressed it on their social media handle, a user by the name, Anita Boodram Mandhar commented, “Oh my God, this send shivers down my spine. Hope with the help of the CCTV footage, the police or the residents can help identify the culprits and justice be served. Sorry for the young couple”.
Another user named, Patricia Pierre sent her prayers for the couple to get through the situation and said “Oh what a sad state of affairs. I could well imagine the brutality that was meted out to that young couple. I do wish them a speedy recovery and hope that the bandits would be captured. . My prayers and thoughts are with them at this time.”
The third user Paula Bowman expressed anger on not even being able to walk freely by stating, “Could you imagine ?? I am praying for the couple to recover speedily.. however the horrible bandits. . Should be delt with the stiffest penalty ever.. they must never be allowed to walk free.”
The residents and authorities are in shock, and are praying for the speedy recovery of the couple. The Police authorities and administration are working for the safety and security of the people of the nation by penalizing the suspects and installing CCTVs around the streets.
