Jamaica: Miss Jamaica World (MJW) Beauty pageant’s finale has been rescheduled for October 9 2021, the co-franchise holder – Dahlia Harris, informed.
The finale was scheduled for last weekend. Speaking on the reason for postponing the event, Harris cited that, “As the measures have changed, people also have to shift & change their plans. In the starting, the show was scheduled for Sunday, September 26, and then we tried to shift it to Saturday 25, but the time frame was short to put the important things in place in terms of permit & approvals.”
“We will never want to do “the Miss Jamaica World” competition and be in breach of any of the Government’s regulations. So, we thought it best to postpone until a later date,” he added.
The pageant crowning, which was originally scheduled for the Little Theatre in St Andrew, will now be conducted at the Courtleigh Auditorium without a live audience, the co-franchise holder stated.
“Due to the small gatherings, we will the transmit the event on RE-TV, which will be delayed on Television Jamaica (TVJ). All of that information will be made available to the public as soon as possible so that everyone may watch and participate,” Harris further added.
Toni-Ann Singh was previously crowned as the 2019 Miss World pageant, still the ruling titleholder of both – Miss Jamaica World and Miss World. She is one of the individuals who will join the Miss Jamaica World (MJW) beauty pageant’s grand coronation.
