EAM Jaishankar welcomes Park Jin, discusses cooperation between India-South Korea

The External Affair Minister of India – Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, has recently held an interactive meeting with his South Korean counterpart, Park Jin, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between India and South Korea.

India: The External Affair Minister of India – Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, has recently held an interactive meeting with his South Korean counterpart, Park Jin, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between India and South Korea.

During the meeting, EAM S Jaishankar took to his official Twitter account to greet the South Korean Minister, where he expressed gratitude and stated that he was glad to welcome the FM Park Jin of the Republic of Korea during his first official visit to India. 

He extended his remarks and noted the discussions between them focused on taking the special strategic relationship forward between both nations. On the other hand, the FM of South Korea, Jin, stated that Korea is looking to upgrade its partnership with India in terms of investment, trade and supply chain stabilization along with crucial minerals. 

As per the reports, the meeting was held on this Friday, where Park Jin also said that he would also host S Jaishankar to enhance the mutual bond between both countries further. In an interview with ANI, South Korean Minister Jin mentioned that they are looking to promote the existing partnership with India, which is half a century old.” 

He further pointed out that to discuss potential areas of mutual interests with his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar, he will be commemorating a brief meeting to enhance the longstanding strategic partnership among them further. 

During his visit to India, the South Korean Minister also met with the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar. The VP tweeted, “The Republic of Korea FM @FMParkJin called on Hon’ble @VPIndia Shri Jagdeep Dhankar.”

The tweet further read the leaders of both countries shed light on the significance of people-to-people ties between India-South Korea on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties between them. 

The reports also stated the South Korean Minister is currently on his two-day visit to India, which started on Friday. He visited India on the auspicious occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. 

The official spokesperson from the Ministry of External Affairs, India, Arindam Bagchi, further welcomed the South Korean Minister to India and stated that this visit would be the next step towards the enhanced relationship between India and South Korea.
