Dominica: Vince Henderson shares list of emergency shelter in Grand Bay

Dominica: As the Atlantic season is here and the Caribbean region has been dealing with countless natural calamities, including Hurricanes, Tropical Storms and Cyclones. Dr Vince Henderson, Parliamentary Representative of the Grand Bay Constitution, has shared a list of shelters, shelter managers and assistant managers 2022 of the South District.
While sharing the list, the Parliamentary Representative stated, “Please pay careful attention to the list of hurricane shelters for the Grand Bay Constituency. Remember, we are in the hurricane season and must continue to be vigilant and exercise all precautions in case of a storm. I hope these shelters never have to come into, and we will be spared the ravages of any storm.”
Community: Grand Bay
Emergency Shelter: Pierre Charles Secondary School, the Shelter Manager for this shelter, will be Rodney Lockhart, along with Assistant Manager Anthony Thomas.
Emergency Shelter: Community Centre – Lower Floor. The Centre will be managed by Shelter Manager – Armour Thomas and Assistant Manager – Davidson Charles.
Emergency Shelter: Grand Bay Youth Centre. It will not have any Shelter Manager and will be managed by Assistant Manager – Regy Henry.
Emergency Shelter: Grand Bay Youth Centre (Pre-School section) will have Julia Bruno as its Shelter Manager and no one as the Assistant Manager.
Emergency Shelter at Grand Bay Seventh Day Adventist Church will be managed by Martha Bruno (Shelter Manager) and Alban Morris (Assistant Manager).
Community: Tete Morne
This community will have one shelter at Resource Centre, which will be single-handedly by Shelter Manager Nickel Thomas.
Community: Bagatelle
Emergency Shelter: Primary School (Pre-school). The shelter manager of this shelter will be Cybil Guiste.
Emergency Shelter: Baptiste Church. Pastor Elvis Francis and Anika Baron will be in charge of the shelter as Shelter Manager and Assistance Manager, respectively.
Community: Bellevue Chopin
Primary School will be utilized as the Emergency Shelter and will be managed by Verlina Maxime and Dorsha Ryan.
