Cuba, Vietnam to strengthen bilateral ties in working session

Cuba: Vietnamese Deputy head of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Truong Quang Hoai Nam meets with the leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba – (CPC) Central Committee’s Department of External Relations in Havana on Sunday in a working session.
During the session, CPV’s Deputy Head praised the Caribbean island for its achievements and developments made in various sectors such as – education, health care, and biotechnology while sharing challenges that Cuba is standing.
Both the parties then discussed the strong ties between them and expressed optimism for the growing ties between both the nations.
They underscored the need to continue promoting the bilateral political relations, particularly – educating the youth and young Party members of both sides on the special friendship between the two nations.
They stressed that it is necessary to strengthen further bilateral economic, trade, and investment partnerships to match the sound political ties between the two parties and nations.
Both the sides encouraged to continue work closely together and efficiently implementing the cooperation agreements between the two parties in the 2018-2023 period; this also includes the exchange of delegations at all levels & the organisation of the fifth theoretical conference, as well as activities to note the 55th anniversary of the historical meeting between Cuban leader Raúl Castro and President Ho Chi Minh (1966-2021).
Besides this, during the meet, the commission presented 100,000 facemasks to the – CPC Central Committee’s Department of External Relations.
Cuba – Vietnam relations –
The relations were established between both nations in December 1960. Since then, Vietnam has become the second-largest trading partner of Cuba in Asia, with Vietnam trailing behind China.
Cuba–Vietnam relations are the interstate relations between the Republic of Cuba and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The relations are based on elements such as – trade, credits, & investments that have increased significantly since the year 1990s and on shared ideological beliefs – they are both socialist states.
