CARICOM leaders express deepest condolences on passing of former Premier of Nevis Amory
Many CARICOM Leaders expressed grief and sadness on the demise of the former Premier, cricketer and a great citizen of Nevis.

CARICOM, St Kitts and Nevis: Former Premier of Nevis Vance Amory lost his life to cancer, on early April 2, 2022, at the age of 72. He was seeking treatment at London Hospital.
Many CARICOM Leaders expressed grief and sadness on the demise of the former Premier, cricketer and a great citizen of Nevis.
While doing the same, Premier of Nevis – Mark Brantley stated, “I woke this morning to the shocking and tragic news that we have lost an iconic Nevisian, a Statesman and lifelong servant to the people of Nevis and the wider Federation. His Excellency Vance Winkworth Amory was an extraordinary human being who served Nevis as a sportsman, an educator, a banker and a politician. His DNA can be found in every facet of Nevisian life and development.
I extend my deepest condolences to his wife Verni, his children, his siblings and his entire family. Your loss is our loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
“Whole CARICOM Community is extremely saddened by the passing of former Premier of Nevis and Sr Minister in the Gov of St Kitts and Nevis. Special Envoy Vance W Amory, your innings are over, but your commitment to the cause of unity at home and in the region lives on. Deepest condolences to his family,” Caricom Secretary-General Dr Carla Barnett mentioned.
Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbados, expressed sadness and mentioned, “On this day, on behalf of the Government and citizens of Antigua and Barbuda, I express heartfelt sympathies to Government and people of St Kitts and Nevis, and to the family and close friends of Ambassador Vance Amory on his passing.”
Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley, stated, “On behalf of the Government and Barbadians, I extend sincere condolence to the Government and residents of St Kitts and Nevis on the demise of former Nevis Premier Vance Amory earlier on April 2, 2022, at the age of 72.
It was a great shock to me to learn of Amory’s passing in a London hospital during his battle against cancer. His nation and this region will undoubtedly miss him.”
Prime Minister of Grenada Keith Mitchell expressed grief and mentioned, “Deeply saddened to learn the passing of Ambassador Vance Amory, former Premier of Nevis. These pics are from exactly one month ago when we met at the CARICOM Heads of Government meeting in Belize. As usual, we had deep conversations about various regional developments.
I extend sincere condolences to the Government and people of St Kitts and Nevis and to his family. Prayers that he rest in eternal peace; farewell to my brother Vance!”
