Antigua and Barbuda: Grays Farm community member donates to local Police’s enhanced crime prevention

A member of the Grays Farm community in a show of encouragement and partnership, on Friday, August 16, 2024, offered the police force of the region with a major crime fighting tool.

Michael Joseph deepens the capability of the Grays Farm Police by contributing a drone that will carry out a new phase in the policing efforts throughout the area in combating crime. At the handing over ceremony, to receive the drone on behalf of the police force, was Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Everton Jeffers.

DCP Jeffers extended heartfelt gratitude to Joseph who has offered his valuable contribution to the reserve over police involvement which is crucial to increase safety in communities. “This is not just a donation of an equipment, it is a plus to our every effort in creating a safer community,” said DCP Jeffers.

He went on to note that the drone was going to enhance the efficiency of police force in close monitoring of incidences and quickly respond to incidences in hard to access areas.

The drone is a surveillance drone and one that is believed to bring big change for the Grays Farm Police. Due to its ability to capture images and videos from above and move from one location to the other, the drone will be of significance in generating real-time data as well as surveillance of public areas.

The usage of this particular technology shall enable the police to stage proper responses and take actions to premeditate heinous crimes more efficiently.

Joseph’s contribution greatly illustrated the concept that residents’ contributions can help significantly in improving the safety within their community. Decision to promote the local police show solidarity between the cops and the society they serve.

The members of Grays Farm community have embraced this gesture as a positive act towards the reduction of violence within the society with hue to the creation of safe environments for everyone. The police have a range of crime prevention methods in which the drone will thereby creating a new way of policing efforts.

The community members can play a very important role within the campaigns that are aimed at supporting the local law enforcement agencies. On this note, Joseph’s contribution goes beyond improving the police force.
