Antigua and Barbuda: The Tourism Authority of Antigua and Barbuda celebrates women’s empowerment at CTO Caribbean Week. The island nation aims to showcase the significant role of women across the Caribbean within the tourism industry.
Notably, the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority proudly sponsored the Women’s Empowerment Awards Breakfast. It is a part of the CTO Caribbean week of activities which was conducted under the theme “Caribbean Queens: Saluting Women Shaping the Future of Caribbean Tourism.” The initiative was conducted with a vision to honour the excellencies of women in their diverse roles. The management aimed to recognize the invaluable contribution and leadership roles of all the women towards fostering tourism industry of the Caribbean region.
The opening remarks were delivered by Max Fernandez, Minister of Tourism, Investment, Civil Aviation and Transportation. During the event, she shed light on the significance of empowering women in the tourism sector in order to boost female career progression and to consider all the ways to dismantle the hurdles that hamper women’s economic and social empowerment. She also expressed her unwavering commitment and dedication to establishing the inaugural event as a cornerstone of Caribbean Week.
The CTO Caribbean Week was commenced in New York on Monday with delegates convening for networking breakfast. The day was later followed by the Caribbean Business and Tourism Marketing symposium which included several significant discussions which revolved around the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Tourism Marketing.
Along with that, the day also conducted the prestigious Caribbean Media Awards in order to celebrate the best content created by media houses in the Caribbean region. Along with Max Fernandez, CEO of Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, Colin James is also attending the CTO Caribbean Week. The entire team of key tourism officials is all set to engage in several meetings and media interviews throughout the week with a vision to elevate the tourism sector of the nation to greater heights.
The year 2024 stands out as a momentous year for the island nation which shed light on the unwavering commitment and dedication of the tourism authority. Also, Antigua and Barbuda’s Tourism officials has promised to continue to implement innovative plans to excel the tourism sector.
