American rapper Fetty Wap charged with charges of Drug trafficking, pleaded not guilty
American rapper, singer, and songwriter – Fetty Wap (Willie Junior Maxwell II) was detained for smuggling a large amount of drugs and was pleaded not guilty on Friday at a virtual hearing.

American rapper, singer, and songwriter – Fetty Wap (Willie Junior Maxwell II) was detained for smuggling a large amount of drugs and was pleaded not guilty on Friday at a virtual hearing.
The 30-year-old was arrested on Thursday from Citi Field, home of the Mets, where the – three-day Rolling Loud hip-hop music festival is taking place. If the charges would have been proved right against Wap, there were high chances that he could have faced life imprisonment.
Wap and five other people were accused of transporting drugs, including heroin, on Long Island and New Jersey.
US Attorney – Breon Peace cited that, “As alleged, the defendants transported, distributed and sold more than 100 kilograms – 220lb of deadly & addictive drugs, including – heroin and fentanyl, – on Long Island, deliberately contributing to – the “opioid epidemic” that has devastated our communities and taken too many lives”.
Following the statement, he added, “We would continue to work non-stop with our law enforcement partners in order to keep our neighbourhoods safe from the scourge of dangerous drugs & gun violence”.
One of the top officials with the FBI’s New York office – Michael J. Driscoll, cited, “The fact that we dtained a chart-topping rap artist & a corrections officer as part of the – conspiracy illustrates just how vile the drug trade has become”.

Wap got fame with debut single Trap Queen, which reached at second position in the United States in 2015 and also came under Top 10 hit in the UK that year. His debut single was also nominated for two Grammy Awards. Wap was born on 7 June in the year 1991.
He has since collaborated on further hits with performances including world-famous singers/rappers such as – Nicki Minaj, Fifth Harmony, Natalie La Rose and Mark Morrison.
Fetty Wap started taking an interest in music in 2013. Originally starting off as a rapper, he later decided to start singing as well because he “wanted to do something different”.
He was nicknamed as “Fetty” means – (slang for money). “Wap” was then added to the end of the name to – perform in tribute to Gucci Mane’s alias, Guwop.
