A woman who was brutally chopped to death at the side of the roadway in San Fernando on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, has still not been identified.
Reportedly, officials came to know about a woman lying motionless at the side of the road at Hermitage Extension in Debe Road at around 4:02 pm.
When police personnel reached the scene, they found the body lying on the ground and discovered multiple chop wounds, which were partially covered with a blue and multi-coloured blanket.
Even though the body was chopped into various pieces still, the investigators managed to give a rough description of the body a woman clad in black top and tights and was said to be of mixed descent, having a light brown complexion and short blacky curly hair.
They even have given an estimate of her height that she could be five feet five inches tall.
The crime scene was summoned by DMO, and the body was removed to a funeral home pending an autopsy at the Forensic Science Centre.
Notably, the Southern Division and the officers of the Homicide Bureau Region 3 have visited the scene and are carrying out their investigations.
It is to be added to the remarks that a total of 47 females have been murdered in the country for the year so far, including five (5) minors.
This was the second female to be killed brutally in this week and the third for the month of November.
Just a few days on Monday, November 6, 2023, a 34-year-old Chiniqua White, aka Chin, was gunned down in the Black Rock at Tobago.
During the investigation, it came to know that the victim was a mother of one and originally from Basement Road.
It is a matter of great concern as such crimes are increasing rapidly, due to which the lives and security of the people are at risk.
