Westmoreland, Jamaica: Two men armed with handguns shot a businessman to death at his shop in Darliston, Westmoreland on Monday. The authorities are probing the matter in detail and the suspects are on the run.
The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Dwayne Kinglock. The names and identities of the suspects are not known as they made their escape after committing the crime.
As per the reports shared by the authorities, the victim, Kinglock was inside his establishment when two suspects armed with handguns entered the place and opened gunfire at the victim.
Following the discovery of the incident, the authorities were informed about the matter and they responded to the matter immediately by reaching the crime spot. When the authorities reached the spot, they initiated the investigation by seizing the area and discovered the injured body of Kinglock.
It is to be reported that the victim was lying on his back in the refrigerator of the shop. Straight after that, the body was transferred to the Savanna-la-mar Public General Hospital where the doctors on duty examined him thoroughly and pronounced him dead.
The authorities have promised to conduct a thorough investigation in order to get the culprit punished for the offence they committed.
Several residents of the community took to their official Facebook accounts and expressed their views and opinions on the incident. They have raised their concerns over the increasing crime activity in Westmoreland and also highlighted the threats and fear that they feel due to crime occurring in the area on a daily basis.
One person with a Facebook account Andrea Uylett commented “Westmoreland used to be one of the best places to go and live, don’t know wats going on with it lately, too much killing.”
Another person commented the following “I feel so unsafe now, crimes are increasing so rapidly, authorities need to do something and take action if they want peace in the country.”
The citizens have requested the administration to implement such policies and plans which can help in reducing crime rates in the nation.
