Port of Spain: 110 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Trinidad and Tobago. According to the statistics, T&T experienced 6 deaths due to the COVID-19 virus. The stats show the constant positivity rate that the country has been experiencing.
Till present total of 3,16,078 tests have been conducted in Trinidad and Tobago at both public and private facilities. In these total tests, 45,824 confirmed cases till present, out of which 40,717 have been recovered.
The total number of positive patients in Trinidad and Tobago had reached 3,771 in this 110 are new cases that had been reported recently in the last 24 hrs.
291 patients have occupied the hospitals at present in T&T. 1,336 patients have also died due to the COVID-19 virus in the country.
Till 4 pm, 5,23,198 patients have been given the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines out of these vaccinated persons, 119,859 got AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine, 3,67,644 got Sino pharm vaccine and 35,695 doses of Pfizer, 5,401 Johnson & Johnson.
Thus 4,13,737 out of the total population got fully vaccinated.
23 patients have been discharged from the public health facilities, and 214 have been recovered community cases. Recovered community cases are categorized in them those who have been infected by COVID-19 virus, and they were in self-isolation, and after reaching the discharge, criteria had been released from self-isolation.
6 additional death have also been reported on Saturday. From the 6 dead,4 were elderly male,1 elderly female and 1 middle-aged male, 1 middle-aged female, 0 young adult male, 0 young adult females.
The Ministry remains to prioritize its health care workers who continue a high-risk high-exposure society for catching the COVID-19 virus. To this end, health care workers are once again been prioritized to take another World Health Organization (WHO) recommended COVID-19 vaccine to guard their patients, their families and themselves.
Trinidad and Tobago would be receiving the shipment of 82,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. This shipment is coming from Canada. Canadian Minister of International Development Karina Gould gave this updation on the vaccine doses.
