Suspect in fatal stabbing of St. Peter’s MP Asot Michael identified

Authorities in the twin-island nation of Antigua and Barbuda have confirmed that they have got their hands on a suspect in the homicidal death of Asot Michael, St. Peter’s Member of Parliament (MP).
The police are making rapid progress with their investigation. But officials till this point, have not released details about the suspect or any apparent motive regarding the incident.
Michael, a well-known local figure, was found dead in his home in Dry Hill on Tuesday morning, November 5, 2024. According to authorities, he suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest along with other injuries.
The authoritative stance stated that if more time is needed to complete this investigation in a way that preserves its integrity, so be it. As long as it takes, they want to put together the pieces surrounding Michael’s sudden passing.
The murder of Michael has sent shockwaves through St. Peter and well beyond the community. Residents are in shock at the news of his death, with many spending the evening of the day of the incident at the scene, mourning and laying flowers.
