Basseterre, St Kitts: Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris announced a new digital application on Tuesday to assist it in successfully managing the COVID-19 pandemic.

PM Harris cited, “Work is also very advanced and nearing completion on the contact tracing application to facilitate the case management of individuals affected by COVID-19“.

An app is being designed for contact tracing of COVID-19 positive cases is under development.

PM Harris furthermore asserted, “This becomes necessary because we have moved over time from attempting to isolate people, for instance, at OTI, to permitting individuals with coronavirus to isolate in their own homes; therefore, the tracking system will become critical“.

Health experts and scientists around the globe are anticipating a new surge in global COVID-19 cases driven by the winter season, as well as the sudden emergence of the highly transmissible Omicron variant.
