PM Drew meets Director-General of IRENA, prioritizes discussion on geothermal project
Dr. Terrance Drew – Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, had a meeting with Francesco La Camera, the Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The interaction of them included fruitful discussions about the geothermal project.

St. Kitts and Nevis: Dr. Terrance Drew – Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, had a meeting with Francesco La Camera, the Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The interaction of them included fruitful discussions about the geothermal project, outlining the follow up to the meeting they had on the sidelines of COP 28 (28th session of the Conference of the Parties).
“I also discussed the IRENA’s Chief of Protocol, the possibility of St. Kitts and Nevis hosting the next meeting of the Agency in the Federation,” quoted the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister added that the discussion taken forward during the meeting included the hosting of the next meeting in the country, St. Kitts and Nevis. Considerably, IRENA is the lead global intergovernmental agency for the energy transformation that deals with promotion of the widespread adoption and sustainable use of all forms of renewable energy.
The organization through its cooperation and support is encouraging the development of Geothermal energy in St. Kitts and Nevis. The valuable collaboration of the country with IRENA reflects the efforts of the authorities towards fulfilling the sustainable agenda.
And, the strengthened and dedicated actions being taken forward for the same set a remark of overall development of the country. This includes the benefits to offer to the people and the economic boost of the country that could improvise the country’s state. The idea for such can be taken as the energy generated in the country would reduce the reliance on fossil fuels, and would reduce the cost of it for the citizens.
Every action of the authorities is directed towards a better future of the country which is even being appreciated to an extent by the netizens. Words like “Promises Kept, PM Terrance Drew” and “Better under Labour” by them are defining the development phase going in the country. And, the recognition for this itself is a mark of growth in the country.
