Local rapper Ronald ‘VMax’ Verasamy killed in Mt Lambert in suspected robbery
The local rapper and US citizen, Ronald’ VMax’ Verasamy, was killed in Mt Lambert in suspected robbery or homicide on Thursday.

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: The local rapper and US citizen, Ronald ‘VMax’ Verasamy, was killed in Mt Lambert in suspected robbery or homicide on Thursday. The incident occurred between 4th and 5th Streets.
Verasamy was a 32-year-old local rapper who resided at Sinanan Gardens in Santa Cruz. If sources are to be believed, he was seated in his car at Second Avenue on Thursday at around 11:25 pm.
In due course of time, some unknown assailant, along with a firearm, proceeded towards him with the intention of robbery. In order to save himself, Vmax fought against him, but a gunman opened fire at him and escaped the place immediately.
The residents around Mt Lambert reached at the crime spot and they informed the police about the incident. Cpl Ramroop and PC Cassie of the North Eastern Division’s ERP responded to the matter and arrived at the scene.
Upon arrival, they observed the body of Verasamy lying motionless on the driver’s seat of a silver Toyota Aqua motorcar and found several gunshot wounds on his body. The victim succumbed to those injuries.
The investigation officers recovered 7 spent 40 Cal bullet casings at the scene.
The body was taken to the hospital for an autopsy report, and the case is currently under investigation. The police officers urged the public to come forward with any information and assist them in their investigations.
Insp Hunt, Greene, Sgt Ramoutar and Cpl Gonzales, WPC Diaz of the Region 2 Homicide Bureau of Investigations is probing the incident.
Additionally, Verasamy was a local rapper, whose stage name was Vmax. He was born in Florida in the US and brought up in Trinidad.
The people and his fans across the country expressed their grief and extended condolences to his family and friends through their social media handles (Facebook).
“Poor Fella. Somebody killed the people’s son. This is getting really out of hand now. The effects of the killing out of our young men is going to show later on down the road. Rest in Peace Vmax”, commented one.
“This is so sad. When will it stop. Losing all these healthy young men. Seems like a normal day in TnT”, quoted another.
