Kirani James continues to bring laurels to his nation, adding yet another medal to his bag by winning the silver medal in the Men’s 400m race at the Rome Diamond League.

Grenada: Kirani James continues to bring laurels to his nation, adding another medal to his bag by winning the silver medal in the Men’s 400m race at the Rome Diamond League. He clocked a time of 44.30 seconds, restoring his countrymen’s pride with the nation’s flag waving at greater heights.
This race took place at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy, where Kirani James showed his grit and claimed a spot on the podium.
Zambia’s Muzala Samukonga, won this race with a time of 43.99 seconds, defeating other athletes. Meanwhile, Jereem Richards of Trinidad and Tobago claimed bronze medal, finishing the race in a time of 44.55 seconds.
With this victory, James has also earned the chance of representing Grenada in the finals of Diamond League which will take place on Friday, 13th September 2024 in Brussels.
The Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell, took to his social media accounts and extended congratulations to the athlete. He called Kirani James “a true champion” who has always made Grenada proud with his remarkable accomplishments.
The Prime Minister also extended best wishes to James for the finals of Diamond League. He added that such accomplishment is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of the James towards positioning Grenada’s sports sector on a global map.
Following the victory and claiming silver medal for his nation, Kirani James expressed excitement and stated that he is feeling extremely blessed as it was a great race considering that he has not competed from the last two weeks. He stated he was back home in Grenada and celebrating with his teammates who have won medals for the country.
While shedding light on competing the race after Paris Olympics 2024, he stated that it is always tough to compete after a major championship but still he had to find a way to keep the fight going and making efforts to make his nation proud of his achievements.
While expressing his pride in representing Grenada on the international platform, he stated that he has been running at high level for a long time because it is really great to represent country on a global platform and to give best for Grenada.
He also shed light on going home and celebrate his friends and people. James also promised to make all his possible efforts to continue to represent his nation and win medals for them.
“It is really great to represent my country and to give my best for Grenada. To be the best I can be,” noted Kirani James.
