Guyana Elite League: Monedderlust FC to face Slingerz FC in finale

Monedderlust Football Club to compete against Slingerz Football Club in the finals of Guyana Football Federation Elite League Promotional Playoff on Monday, 1 January 2024 at Eve Leary Ground at 6 pm.

Notably, Slingerz Football Club defeated Winners Connection Football in the first semi-finals by a score of 3-0. The goal scorers from the winning team were Simeon Moore 26’, 45+3’ and Brian Wharton 90+3’. The first semi-finals were held at Eve Leary Ground at 6:00 pm.

While another match of semi-final of GFF Elite League Promotional Playoff was conducted between Monedderlust Football Club and Beacon Football Club. The match was played at the same ground at 8:00 pm. The game was won by Monedderlust Football Club by a score of 4-1. The players who contributed goals for Monedderlust Football Club were Kevin Cotty 38’, Terrence Lowes 53’, Tyrone Delph 83’ and the player from Beacons Football Club, Dominic Nelson scored an own goal for Monedderlust FC. It is to be noted, the league began on Sunday, 17 December 2023 and now coming to its end on 1 January 2024. The last matches before semi-final were conducted on Monday, 25 December 2023.

They played their first game of the tournament against Beacons Football Club at 6:00 pm at No.5 Ground Berbice. Monedderlust Football Club defeated Beacons Football Club by a score of 4-1. The players who contributed goals from the winning team were Paul McDonald, Tyrone Delph. While the other two players from Beacons FC scored own goal for Monedderlust FC. The goal contributor from Beacons Football Club was Curt Welcome.

Another game of Monedderlust FC was against Buxton Football Club on Monday, 25 December 2023. This game was also won by Monedderlust FC by a score of 3-0. The goal scorers from the winning team were Tyrone Delph 12’, 85’ and Dawit Watts 45+2.

Meanwhile, another finalist, Slingerz FC faced Dominators FC in their first match of the league on 17 December, 2023. The game was won by Slingerz Football Club by a score of 6-0. The contributors were Clive Nobrega, Simeon Moore, Sheldon Holder and Deon Alfred.

The second game of the Slingerz FC was against Winners Connection Football Club on 23 December 2023. Slingerz Football Club won the game by 1-0. The goal was scored by Clive Nobrega.
