Corona Period: Bahamas Students Receives Accurate Results in Exams
The Minister of Education the Hon. Jeffery Lloyd calls the exam success. The “success” of the examinations is attributed to the many hardships of the year 2020, such as schools’ closure and the abrupt transfer to a virtual learning platform. 31,000+ students across the entire Bahamas were able to sit the exam and receive accurate and accredited results.

                                                    Bahamas: On January 4, the Ministry of Education held a Press Conference on the National Examination results for the BJC and BGCSE.
The Minister of Education the Hon. Jeffery Lloyd calls the exam success. The “success” of the examinations is attributed to the many hardships of the year 2020, such as schools’ closure and the abrupt transfer to a virtual learning platform. 31,000+ students across the entire Bahamas were able to sit the exam and receive accurate and accredited results.
Other positive results from the exam were that:
-68.29% of the candidates received grades A – D
-Improvement in scores across 15 subject areas
The exams were worth the financial and emotional strain that was placed on students. The national exam results show many students’ willpower to sit the exam through the crisis, despite a year with many challenges.
On the other hand, PM Minnis appreciates Country’s Several Organisations.
Prime Minister Minnis also visited several police stations, including Central Police Station, Paradise Island, Elizabeth, Fox Hill, and CDU. He reminded officers that curfew remains at 10 PM and that only church services are allowed after the curfew. PM also went to government health clinics, thank health care workers for all of their hard work throughout the pandemic, and praised them for the New Year.
The Bahamas Ministery of Health confirmed 16 cases of covid-19 on Thursday, December 31, and 13 of the patients were of New Providence, 1 of Grand Bahama & 2 of Exuma.
Some people said the reopening of schools was a little risky, But the significant risk is more on children’s future. This coronavirus outbreak is restricting all the greatness of people. This step of government made secure a lot of Bahamas Students.
