St Kitts and Nevis: Celebrity Equinox cruise ship will arrive in St Kitts and Nevis today. The ship will be berthed at Port Zante.
For the safety of the general public, the passengers on the cruise ship will only be allowed to travel the destination via ‘Travel Approved’ bubble vaccinated tours or the attraction sites.
What is this ‘Travel Approved’ bubble vaccinated tours for Equinox –
It is one where the cruise ship passengers communicate with fully vaccinated tour operators, the seaport officials and any other cruise-related staff.
As per the new guidelines, when a cruise ship is in the port, the citizens/ general public is not allowed to access the ‘TravelApproved’ bubble vaccinated display sites from – 6 am to 6 pm such as – Brimstone Hill Fortress and National Park, Carambola Beach Club, Caribelle Batik, Fairview Great House, Palms Court Gardens, St. Kitts Scenic Railway.
The general public is reminded to note that the visitors would explore the destination via ‘Travel Approved ‘bubble vaccinated tours only, and the public would not notice cruise passengers walking over the streets of Basseterre autonomously.
The Local tourism employees who will be interacting with the cruise ship passengers need to be fully vaccinated and must have completed their ‘Travel Approve’ training. Besides this, the tour operators are only permitted to transport cruise passengers from the dispatching site directly to the attraction, and after the tour, directly back to the ship.
The government has advised the tour operators, passengers and the general public to abide by the COVID-19 measures so as to reduce the chances of transmission, which will eventually help to rebuild the cruise sector.
The island country has also started vaccination for the children between the age group of 12 -17 years, to which so far 3.9 per cent of the children population has been given the first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the statistics, there are a total of 1,510 confirmed cases of the deadliest COVID-19 and 8 people lost their lives to the mutant so far.
