President of Haiti Jovenel Moise assassinated by a group of unidentified people with guns. They assassinated the president by shooting him with guns at 1:00 a.m on Wednesday. The killing of President Jovenel Moise comes amid deepening political and economic stability and a spike in gang violence.
Martine Moïse, the wife of the president, has also been shooted in the attack. According to the pieces of information, her condition has been not immediately apparent.

PM Claude Joseph stated that a group of unidentified individuals, some of them speaking Spanish, attacked the private residency of the president of Haiti and thus badly wounded the head of state. The country security state is following the control of the Haitian police and the well-armed forces of Haiti.
PM Moise had been trying to stop growing public outrage over his effort to hold on to power despite the opposition’s urging that his term had expired.
Haiti announced its independence in the year 1804 after Haitians went against colonial France. The first free and fair elections were conducted in 1990.
The constitutional referendum would be held on Sept 26 in Haiti. On the same date, the presidential and legislative elections have also been held. The government stated that the date of the constitutional referendum had been changed twice because of the pandemic. A few days ago, President of Haiti Jovenel Moise extended the tenure of Prime Minister of Haiti Claude Joseph as the head of the government.
