Air Peace to launch flights to Antigua and Barbuda by early next year

Antigua and Barbuda: A Nigerian airline, Air Peace is all set to begin its scheduled flights to Antigua and Barbuda by early next year or later this year. The news was confirmed by the Prime Minister Gaston Browne who aimed to bring large number of African tourists to the island nation.

While shedding light on the collaboration, PM Browne stated that they have faced several difficulties in getting a partner but they are extremely grateful that Government of Antigua and Barbuda’s partnership with Air Peace has come to fruition.

The Prime Minister continued to say that this crucial partnership between his administration and the airline would play a huge role in facilitating the movement of tourists from Nigeria to the island nation. He further asserted that the arrival of the large number of tourists to the country would play a huge role in enhancing the tourism sector of the country and making Antigua and Barbuda, a premier destination among the travellers.

Moreover, Prime Minister Browne mentioned about the issues faced by the people of the Caribbean on the conflicts of the migrants travelling to the country. For the same, he stated that his government is making stringent measures in order to prevent those problems in future.

“We had to endure during that unfortunate period in which we ended up with a significant amount of conflict migrants travelling to our country,” noted PM Gaston Browne.

The leader of the nation shared that they have learnt from their past experiences and have implemented better controls in order to avoid that happened previously. PM Browne stated that his administration is aiming to move genuine and wealthy tourists from Nigeria to Antigua on a scheduled flight basis, which could result in contributing to the tourism product.

“This partnership between Air Peace and the government of Antigua and Barbuda would have taken fruit to the extent that you now have the homeland, Antigua literally partnering with the motherland, Nigeria,” noted PM Gaston Browne.

He also asserted that this partnership is expected to go beyond LIAT because he believes that from later this year, no later than the first quarter of next year, people will see scheduled flights of Air Peace moving people out of Nigeria into Antigua and Barbuda successfully and broadening the tourism sector.
