315 people in Trinidad and Tobago admitted in hospital due to COVID-19

Port of Spain: 129 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Trinidad and Tobago. According to the statistics T&T experienced 8 deaths due to COVID-19 virus. The stats shows the constant positivity rate that country has been experiencing.
Till present total of 2,78,397 tests have been conducted in Trinidad and Tobago at both public and private facilities. In these total tests, 40,233 confirmed cases till present, out of which 33,174 have been recovered.
The total number of positive patients in Trinidad and Tobago had reached 5,922 in this 128 are new cases that had been reported recently in the last 24 hrs.
The hospitals have been occupied by 315 patients at present in T&T. 1,137 patients have also died due to the COVID-19 virus in the country.
Till 4 pm 4,17,070 patients have been given the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines out of these vaccinated persons 91,922 got AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine, 3,24,948 got Sinopharm vaccine and 200 doses of Pfizer.
Thus 228,175 out of the total population got fully vaccinated.
41 patients have been discharged from the public health facilities, and 124 have been recovered community cases. Recovered community cases are categorised in them those who have been infected by COVID-19 virus, and they were in self-isolation, and after reaching the discharge, criteria had been released from self-isolation.
8 additional death have also been reported on Tuesday. From the 8 dead,5 were elderly males,1 elderly females and 0 middle-aged males,2middle-aged females, 0 young adult male, 0 young adult females
The government of Trinidad and Tobago had reopen its border for travellers from July 17 but also warned that the non-vaccinated people would not be allowed to enter the country.

Trinidad and Tobago would be receiving the shipment of 82,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. This shipment is coming from Canada. Canadian Minister of International Development Karina Gould gave this updation on the vaccine doses.
According to the statement by the Government of Canada said that they had selected the twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago for the donation of the vaccines. After surveying the based on need, minimizing wastage, and maximizing the public health impact and the country’s capacity to deploy them immediately, they took this decision.
