President Jovenel Moïse declared, “I want that to be clear in everyone’s mind. This new Constitution must preserve all the democratic guarantees guaranteed by the 1987 mother law. It must create more harmony between the 3 State powers. It must be simple, clear and easily applicable. It must be modern. It must correspond to our culture as a people.”
Features of New Constitution:
According to President Jovenel Moïse, The mother of this law excluded from the country’s political affairs more than 3 million Haitians because they do not live on the national territory. At the same time, about 40% of the country’s gross domestic product is on their backs. Many have the expertise and skills to help the country cover the way for economic development and growth.
Mwen vle pou sa klè nan lespri tout moun. Nouvo Konstitisyon sa dwe konsève tout aki demokratik manman lwa 1987 la te garanti yo. Li dwe kreye plis amoni ant 3 pouvwa Leta yo. Li dwe senp, klè e fasilman aplikab. Li dwe modèn. Li dwe koresponn ak kilti nou kòm pèp. #Ayiti pic.twitter.com/swNhPGK5qt

Old Governance Problems:
President reminded the problems of old governance by saying, “We all agree that there are major problems in the country’s governance. There is no balance between the 3 State powers. A Power always joins collision. This makes corrupt oligarchs use their institutions to block the State from helping the people. They reconstruct the State into a greedy State working for their own interests only.”
Manman lwa sa ekskli nan zafè politik peyi a plis pase 3 milyon ayisyen paske yo pap viv sou teritwa nasyonal la. Alòske se sou do yo anviwon 40% Pwodui Enteryè brit peyi a chita. Anpil ladan yo gen konesans ak konpetans pou ede peyi a pran wout devlopman ak kwasans ekonomik. pic.twitter.com/mzmxNwgTya
