UN human rights request Indian authorities to 'exercise maximum restraint'

World: On Friday, UN human rights urged Indian administrations and farmers protesting against Farm Bill 2020 to exercise maximum restraint.

UN human rights office insists on finding an amicable solution to these protests where violation of Human Rights is extending day by day.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), via a tweet, said the rights to peaceful assembly and expression should be maintained both offline and online.

“India: We call on the authorities and protesters to exercise maximum restraint in ongoing #Farmers Protests. The rights to peaceful assembly & expression should be maintained both offline & online. It’s crucial to find equitable solutions with due respect to #Human Rights for all,” it tweeted.

Thousands and hundreds of farmers from all over India, mainly from Punjab, Haryana, North Uttar Pradesh, have been protesting at three border points, Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur 70 days demonstrating their agitation for not demolishing the three black laws.

It is not about three black agricultural laws, but now it’s a matter of Human Rights.

There is a war of tweets going on social media platforms that ignite the flames of all sleeping people of the world.

Popstar Rihanna, Climate activist Greta Thunberg, and Actress Amanda Cerny also tweeted about the same, creating a warzone on Twitter.

Multiple rounds of talks between the Indian Government and the farmer unions have remained deadlocked. The protests at the Delhi borders for the repeal of the three contentious agriculture laws enacted in September last began on 28 November.

The Indian administration is not answerable to their public. They are just not violating Human rights, but they are insulting democracy.

Injustice anywhere is intimidation to justice everywhere.

People need answers, and they are seeking justice, which is the need of the hour. Public needs their rights to proceed with their peaceful protest and defeat the unlawful administration. They can oppose any law, and nobody can stop them, even if it is the nation’s powerful government.
