T&T: Private autopsy unveils victim’s head was hit from blunt object

Trinidad and Tobago: The murder of Andrea Bharatt is a threat to the women community in Trinidad and Tobago.

This unfortunate death reveals the high range of violence against women in the nation.

A recent report says that A private forensic autopsy performed on the body of Andrea Bharatt has unveiled that she died from extensive internal hemorrhaging.

It happened after she was punched on the head with a blunt object that induced her to fall back and crack her skull.

The autopsy was performed at the Boodoo’s Funeral Home in Central Trinidad on Tuesday by forensic pathologist Professor Hubert Daisley after the businessman, and political activist Inshan Ishmael along with two others, came together to pay for an independent autopsy.

It accompanied an inconclusive post-mortem done on Monday by a pathologist at the Forensic Science Centre in St James.

During a live broadcast on Facebook, Ishmael stated he was not satisfied with the inconclusive report presented on Monday.

Ishmael announced he was moved to have one done privately for the family’s sake. He firmly believed that Bharatt’s father, Randolph Bharatt, needed closure about how his only daughter departed following her kidnapping on January 29.

The report from the initial post-mortem remarked that the corpse was in an initial state of decomposition, making it challenging for the pathologist to find a cause of death.

Ishmael revealed the private autopsy results in a Facebook broadcast the previous day, saying that he was in a state of shock and very emotional.

Ishmael stated, “he was not satisfied with the unresolved report that we got from the pathologist concerning something like this. It stated that for me, who has no foundation in this field, it is doubtful that after just a few days, that the report could be uncertain.”

Andrea was killed with brutality, and it must not be silenced; people need to be her voice. Her aunt is making efforts to raise her voice and give Andrea justice. No woman is safe in Trinidad and Tobago, and girls can never walk in the streets fearlessly again.
