Tobago to kickoff cruise season with maiden call of Ex Ploris One today

Trinidad and Tobago: The tourism officials in Tobago were excited to announce the official launch of the 2024-2025 cruise season which will begin with the first call at the Port of Scarborough today (November 5, 2024).

According to the information, the Ex Ploris One will be the inaugural ship for this season that will bring a total of 144 passengers as it makes its inaugural call to the island.

It is being reported that during this season, the island will receive around 40 cruise calls, from 19 ships that will bring an estimated 40,000 passengers. These passengers are further anticipated to grace the shores of Tobago and indulge in its number of local offerings.

The cruise season will be featuring a diverse lineup of vessels, with the island welcoming travellers from across the world to experience the breath-taking landscapes of the island and its crystal clear waters as well as the renowned attractions.

The Division of Tourism of Tobago noted that the team has been deliberate in enhancing the experience of destination Tobago by hosting consultations with a number of stakeholders to ensure readiness for this season and to better serve the visitors.

They also partnered with the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Institute to initiate refresher courses for frontline staff and also launched the first 10 Selfie Spots across the island in order to boost the visitor experience at some of the major tourist attractions in Tobago.

Meanwhile, Councillor Tashia Grace Burris also noted that she is looking forward to a successful cruise season for Tobago and added that she hopes that the season remains wonderful and safe.

Burris noted that the visitors will get a chance to enjoy all that destination Tobago has to offer while her team works to add new attractions as well as experiences to their portfolio.

Beginning today, the cruise season in Tobago is anticipated to run until April 19, 2025, with thousands of passengers arriving to the small island.
