SKN reports 42 new COVID infections
St Kitts and Nevis reported 42 new cases of the COVID-19 virus, taking the total toll of active cases in the island country to 598 till 8 September 2021, according to the report of the Ministry of Health.

St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis reported 42 new cases of the COVID-19 virus, taking the total toll of active cases in the island country to 598 till 8 September 2021, according to the report of the Ministry of Health.
So far, five patients in the twin-island scummed to death amid the COVID-19 pandemic, while in total, 749 individuals have been recovered from the contagious mutant.
As per the Health Ministry’s report, out of 1,352 confirmed cases discovered, 1,119 cases were reported on St Kitts, and 233 COVID-19 infections have been reported on Nevis island.
Worldwide currently, there are a total of 221,648,869 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, while in total, 200,127,201 individuals have recovered from the mutant while around 4,582,338 individuals lost their lives to the deadliest COVID-19 virus.
As per the COVID-19 vaccination report, till 8 September, around 66.3 per cent of St Kitts and Nevis population has received their first jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine, whereas a total of 74.5 per cent of the SKN population has taken its second dose and is fully vaccinated now.
The island country has also started giving vaccination doses to children between the age group of 12-17 years old, to which till 8 September 2021, 2.8 per cent of the children population has received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
In addition, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis – Dr Timothy Harris, is also encouraging the citizens to take doses of their COVID-19 vaccines as soon as possible in order to fight and defeat the deadly mutant.
The government of SKN has asked its citizens to abide the COVID-19 health protocols and measures such as – wearing masks, frequently sanitizing, maintaining social distance.
