Saint Lucia: Traveling Exhibition 2024 to leave historical impression on youth
An Exhibition highlighting the lives of Saint Lucia’s Nobel Laureates “ Traveling Exhibition 2024” will reveal the magic at Castries City Hall on January 25 to February 2, 2024, leaving a strong historical impression for the better future of country.

Saint Lucia: An Exhibition highlighting the lives of Saint Lucia’s Nobel Laureates, “Traveling Exhibition 2024”, will reveal the magic at Castries City Hall from January 25 to February 2, 2024 from 9 am to 5:30 pm
This nine-day exhibition is aimed at Celebrating Excellence, which is bound to inspire the collective imagination and foster national pride. Famous personalities, Sir Derek Walcott (Literature 1992) and Sir William Arthur Lewis (Economics 1979) will be remembered through this.
Interestingly, the entry to the exhibition will be completely free of cost.
The country is already celebrating the Nobel Laureate Festival from January 24 to January 26, 2024 under which a student debate is being held on Wednesday (January 24) at noon at room 2, Innovation Hub.
The subject marked to the debate is “Saint Lucia’s annual celebration of our two Nobel Laureates is more ceremonial than consequential.”
On the next day (January 25), the Sir Arthur Lewis Memorial Lecture as well will be delivered by Dr. James Fletcher under the topic Navigating the Future. This will lay a major focus on applying the teachings of Sir William Arthur Lewis to Saint Lucia’s 21st century Development Challenges.
Moreover, on January 26, the Nobel Laureate Wreath Laying Ceremony will be held in the morning at 10 am at Sir Arthur Community College, Morne Fortune, Castries. This ceremony honours the legacies of Sir Arthur Lewis and Sir Derek Walcott, who are buried on the college grounds.
During the ceremony, wreaths will be placed at the gravesites and the family members, invited guests, and college community members will celebrate the remarkable works of two Laureates. Also, the keynote speech will be delivered by Dr Patrick ‘Paba’ Anthony.
All the events to be held in the country will leave a footprint on the lives of the young generation, taking them towards the values of preserving the past and taking that to the future. The historical impressions which will be laid through this would surely impact the generation.
