Prime Minister Phillip J Pierre unveils new cabinet

New cabinet set-up announced in St Lucia. Newly elected Prime Minister of St Lucia, Phillip J Pierre, assigned the ministries to the Cabinet Ministers on Thursday, August 5 2021.

PM Phillip also stated that the independent candidates would be getting an important place in his administration. Stephenson King and Richard Frederick were former senior members of the previous government who quit to contest the July 26 general elections as independent candidates.

Phillip PM Phillip J Pierre, while addressing the ceremony, said that their party and Cabinet would be listening to the public and always keep them first in all aspects. They could only achieve the motive of this new Cabinet when they all would be working together. The ceremony was attended by the new chairman of CARICOM and PM of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne.

PM Phillip said his administration is aware of what it would take to make life better for the citizens of St Lucia. PM Phillip added that they would stay faithful in these unprecedented difficult times and stick to their promises.

• Phillip J. Pierre – Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Economic Development and the Youth Economy.

• Ernest Hilaire -Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information.

• Moses Jn. Baptiste – Minister for Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs.

• Shawn A. Edward – Minister for Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology and Vocational Training.

• Alva Romanus Baptiste -Minister for External Affairs, International Trade, Civil Aviation and Diaspora Affairs.

• Stephenson King -Senior Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Ports, Transport, Physical Development and Urban Renewal.

• Emma Hippolyte -Minister for Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs.

• Joachim Andre Henry -Minister for Equity, Social Justice and People’s Empowerment.

• Virginia Albert-Poyotte -Minister for the Public Service, Home Affairs, Labour and Gender Affairs.

• Kenson Joel Casimir – Minister for Youth Development and Sports.

• Alfred Prospere – Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Rural Development.

• Wayne D. Girard -Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Youth Economy.

• Richard Frederick – Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Housing and Local Government

• Dr. Pauline Antoine-Prospere – Parliamentary Secretary in Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology and Vocational Training.

• Guibion Ferdinand – Parliamentary Secretary in Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information.
