Bahamas: Prime Minister of Bahamas, Dr. Hubert A. Minnis, participated in the formal opening of the Real-Time Crime Centre (RTCC) at the Police Headquarters.
The mission of the RTCC is to implement the policy with the ability to capitalize on its wide and developing range of technologies for efficient and effective policing.
“In The Bahamas, we have combined emerging technologies into our policing operations with the enlightenment of ShotSpotter, Marco’s Alert Digital Billboards, drone technology, closed-circuit television (CCTV), body-worn cameras, and dashboard cameras,” said the Bahamas Prime Minister.
The RTCC will incorporate a broad range of current and evolving technologies. The Centre will regulate assets and direct the attention of sources to high-crime areas, active crimes in progress, large-scale public situations that may require law implementation presence or response, and high profile or high repeat offenders in the association.
Prime Minister Hubert Minnis added, “The Real-Time Crime Centre will maximize the likelihood that members of the Royal Bahamas Police Force can respond to crimes occurring in real-time and do so effectively.”
On Wednesday, February 17, 2020 – Dr. The Most Honorable Hubert A. Minnis attended the Ash Wednesday church service at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral to pay reverence to the Lent season’s beginning.
PM also said, “Today, it was my pleasure to participate in the official opening of the Real-Time Crime Centre. We have integrated emerging technologies into our policing operations with the introduction of Shot-Spotter, Marco’s Alert, drone technology, CCTV, body cameras, and dashboard cameras.”
On the other hand, Hubert Minnis officially inaugurated a satellite Passport Office on Exuma as part of the government’s plan to improve passport services throughout the nation.
The inauguration of the Exuma Passport Office illustrates the Government’s commitment to Exuma’s development and Family Islands in general as centers of occasion and growth, said the Prime Minister.
A resident commented, “I can see the street on the wall, look like that go all over Nassau, tell yall good children the police get them live on pic.”
