The Progressive Liberal Party launched its road trip on Tuesday to promote its comprehensive Economic Plan to kickstart an economic recovery with immediate relief now and a plan to create jobs and build a more robust and more inclusive economy.
Party candidates Leslia Brice (Seabreeze), Senator Dr Michael Darville (Tall Pines), and Leonardo Lightbourne (North Andros and Berry Islands) visited Mervin Sweeting’s Switcha Bahamas manufacturing plant in Industrial Park Gladstone to highlight critical aspects of the PLP’s Economic Plan to expand manufacturing and create new jobs.
In his remarks, Senator Darville focused on the importance of the PLP embracing the light industries and encouraged Bahamians to embrace the opportunities of entrepreneurship.
“We intend to increase access to financing for small and medium-sized businesses in all sectors, prioritizing manufacturing as a critical element for investment and growth,” said Senator Darville.
Underscoring the PLP’s primary focus to empower Bahamian entrepreneurs, Leslia Brice, the party’s candidate for Seabreeze, reiterated the PLP’s plan to invest 250 million dollars over five years to fund Bahamian businesses.
