Nevisian architect goes viral for proposing plan to connect St Kitts and Nevis via bridge

St Kitts and Nevis: A young architect from Nevis, Akeo Bailey, has gone viral with his innovative concept for a bridge connecting St Kitts and Nevis.

The proposed design of the bridge as revealed in the viral photos showcases it located near Cockleshell Bay in St Kitts and going over to the closest point on Nevis which is Oualie Beach. The bridge will be approximately 2 miles long and will only take a five minute drive to travel between the two islands.

As the pictures of this proposed design went viral on social media, the locals went crazy with the hopes that the government will approve it in the near future. A user named Fernando McSheene said well done to the architect and added, “I hope the gov approves your project. This is taking St Kitts and Nevis to a whole new level.”

Another user named Farrell Carl noted, “I was thinking about a similar thought about a bridge between the two islands.”

Not only this, but a user came forward with a different opinion, expressing that the locals enjoy the water taxi so let it be that way only. She said, “I truly hope not, We enjoy the water taxis and that is their revenue and livelihood. Just leave some things the way they are, this is why we love our islands.”

Notably, the introduction of a bridge will surely be a milestone for the locals of St Kitts and Nevis as it will make it much easier for them to travel between the two islands on different occasions. However, water taxis are one of the things for which St Kitts and Nevis is known, which is why the locals may not look for the bridge to become a vision in the future.

Moreover, the Nevisian architect Akeo Bailey is known for his unique designs, which he usually creates through AI and makes them look very real.

Last week, he proposed another design for a proper modern Timothy Hill Look Out Platform which was complete with a restaurant and upstairs lounge. The designs of the architect have been going viral on social media, providing the government with several valuable ideas to consider.
