Jamaica to get donation of vaccines from Mexico and St Lucia

Jamaica’s Health Minister, Dr Christopher Tufton, highlighted that Jamaica has been running low on COVID-19 vaccines, due to which it would affect the vaccination process in the coming days. All Jamaican have to wait for the normalizing of the vaccination process till the next shipment of the vaccine doses to the island.
After getting the news of the shortage of vaccine in Jamaica. The Two countries of the Caribbean and Latin Americas region decided of gifting the vaccine doses to Jamaica for smoothening the process of the vaccine in Jamaica.

Johnson Smith said that Jamaica sincerely welcomes the generous offer from the United States of Mexico. That came at a critical juncture and would be central to expanding their vaccination program, which had been impacted by global vaccine supply constraints.
Both shipments would be seeing Jamaica receiving some 39,000 vaccines by the weekend to continue the vaccination program. The government has also been banking on an awaited donation of vaccines in the coming weeks from the Joe Biden administration in the US.
