Jamaica: Three shooting incidents reported on Christmas eve, 1 dead, 2 injured
On the eve of Christmas, two men were shot by the police authorities. Both of the individuals were shot and injured in different shooting incidents on the same day in Red Hills, St Andrew, and Linstead, St Catherine.

Kingston, Jamaica: On the eve of Christmas, two men were shot by the police authorities. Both of the individuals were shot and injured in different shooting incidents on the same day in Red Hills, St Andrew, and Linstead, St Catherine.
Both of the shooting incidents are being investigated by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
First incident –
The foremost incident took place in the Gutsman district in Red Hills. As per the statements issued by the police officers, the individual was shot down at around 9:30 pm, when a lawman confronted him and firing started, in which the man received injuries.
The police officials have not revealed the identity of the man, who is at present in the hospital facility. Police seized a Taurus 9mm pistol with eight rounds of ammunition was seized.
Second incident –
In another incident which took place at around 10 pm, a man was having a confrontation with another man in the town centre, when he was shot down and got injured by the police.
The report of police notes that the injured individual was trying to attack the other man with a machete when police intervened and shot. In the incident, the armed man was also shot and was immediately taken to the hospital and is admitted.
The identities of the injured and the other details have yet not been shared by the Jamaican police.

The Caribbean island is now among the nations of the region having the highest number of daily murders.
In addition, 46-year-old Lincoln Bansedder was also gunned down during an open fire by the armed men on Christmas eve at around 2 pm. This third incident took place in Lyssons, St Thomas.
